Red Oak or White Oak? We get this question all the time.

If you’re considering new hardwood floors or refinishing your existing ones, one of the biggest decisions is choosing between Red Oak and White Oak. Both are beautiful, but they each have a different look.

Red Oak has been a favorite in homes for years. It has a warmer appearance with subtle reddish and pink undertones and a more noticeable grain pattern. If you like a classic hardwood look with plenty of character, Red Oak is hard to beat.

White Oak has become increasingly popular, especially with homeowners wanting a more updated style. It has more neutral brown tones, a smoother grain, and works exceptionally well with today’s lighter stain colors. It’s also slightly harder than Red Oak, making it a great option for busy households.
