I’m sharing this because it is so important! When I opened my bookstore way back in 1982, a young man asked if he could wash the store’s windows. I said, “Yes.” He was happy, then, to know that he would make $10.00.
As he worked, I heard profanity spew from his lips. The f word highlighted his movements.
I was, of course, very concerned, but for some reason, I, a young woman back then, accepted the situation, realizing that he had little control over the words that he blurted!
I like him, and paid the $10.00, hoping that I would see him again. I never did, but in my mind, I wished him well.
What a painful cross to bear it must be!
