A little hocus pocus at Labellum to kick off Halloween week. I’ve been making witches’ brooms, gathering autumn textures, and getting just a little carried away…🤣 as evidenced by the first photo. Crooked branches, wild grasses, a wreath for the door and a broom for a quick spin after closing.
The full moon starts the week, and it feels like the autumn air is staying with us a bit longer.

Five feet tall and still absolutely loaded, these greenhouse peppers would have happily kept going if I’d let them. A few more weeks and so many of these greens would have turned red, but their slow start pushed them back a month, now it’s too cold. luckily, they taste extraordinary just as they are. My mom is going to make her famous sweet pepper relish! What’s your favorite recipe or preservation technique for so many delicious peppers?

One of my favorite florist illusions: making something this big still feel light, loose and a little wild. Branches reaching, lilies waiting to open, lots of pretty flowers tucked into the garden. A vase arrangement with main-character proportions.
