When I was young and naive, I’d dump half a bag of charcoal into the Weber (always loved the smell of coal:) then dowse it w lighter fluid, and proceed to burn whatever what was on the grill. Now, as a sensible and more knowledgeable griller- I’ve discovered the benefits of the $39 cast iron hibachi. It’s perfect for two. It only asks for 12 briquettes.

Now I use a paper starter chimney.

When the coals are low and glowing (patience my son), this sword from Brazil marinated in soy, sesame oil, garlic powder, paprika, s + p, grilled up in 15 mins.

(It was a little thick).

On the side is fennel - a flavor treat when grilled. It becomes sweet and juicy.

Just like my grilling dreams.

Dear Sunday Shoppers! We have plenty of shellfish: Cora Cressy Oysters, John’s River Selects, Glidden cocktails, Aphrodite petites, Pemaquid Mussels, Washington State Manila clams and little necks.

Fresh fish is gone including Salmon, scallops and Lobster.

The kitchen has limited lobster rolls, New England chowder, Lobster bisque, shrimp and scallop casseroles.

We have some frozen clam stuffies too!

Jonah Crab cakes went for this week but we do have Faroe Island Salmon cakes.

We had some amazing home dishes created and shared this weekend.

Max did fluke and Stonington scallop sashimi, followed by charcoal grilled halibut cheeks.

Austin hit it with bourbon buttered Glidden Selects oysters and Madagascar Giant Tiger Prawn linguine.
