Formerly known as the Repair Shoppe, we have a history in Bellingham and the surrounding region of high-quality musical instrument repair work. We regularly receive and repair instruments from all over the country, specializing in double reeds and saxes. With four wind repair technicians and two guitar and percussion techs, we started with a focus mainly on wind instruments, but have expanded to i

nclude expert guitar repair and basic percussion and orchestral strings. Home to Ed DeVaney and Dave Payne of Guitar Doctor USA, we have a good reputation for quick turnarounds and friendly, knowledgeable service. In December 2012, we expanded beyond wind repair to include band and other wind accessories, including professional level reeds and mouthpieces, as well as a full array of wind and band player needs, including percussion. Our goal is to offer Whatcom County services that aren't being fully met. With the closing of several music stores lately, we have noticed that few shops carry the level of wind accessories we know wind musicians need. We carry all of the common band instruments as well as uncommon and hard to find rental instruments from beginner to professional level. We have oboes, bass clarinets, bari saxes, baritones and tubas, as well as being one of about five shops in the USA that rents english horns. We would love to see you and your instrument, and we will take good care of you both.

Bellingham Wind Works has big news!

We’re excited to officially welcome Emma McGuire to the Bellingham Wind Works repair team.

Emma joins us as a professional flute repair specialist with experience working on all major professional flute brands. She is Muramatsu Certified and Straubinger Pad Certified, and brings a very high level of precision, consistency, and care to the bench.

Professional flute players know how difficult it can be to find qualified, experienced flute technicians without long wait times or shipping instruments out of the area. We’re proud to now offer dedicated professional flute repair services right here at Wind Works.

Emma is now booking:
-COA and overhaul work -Straubinger pad service
-Muramatsu certified flute service -Professional flute setup and regulation
-Piccolo service
-Student through professional level repair
Current turnaround times are very reasonable, and appointments are now available. Drop by anytime the shop is open or call 360-733-5840 to book an appointment.
We’re thrilled to have Emma as part of the Wind Works team and excited for what this means for flute players, teachers, students, and professionals throughout the region.

Happy Arbor Day! We’re celebrating our own personal Arbor - Arbor O’Brien! Arbor is a general repair tech in our shop, working on assorted woodwinds and brass. Arbor studied clarinet performance at the University of Montana before going back to their home town of Oak Harbor, WA during the pandemic. While in Oak Harbor, they reconnected with their former clarinet teacher who owned the local music store and was offered a job selling guitars and learning basic wind instrument repair on the side. It was through that business relationship that Arbor first started working at Wind Works by doing seasonal summer repairs before being hired full-time in January of 2026. When not repairing instruments they enjoy musicals, history, maps, video games, and lamenting the current state of the USPS where they have previously worked.
