The $3 Gold Princess is the only U.S. coin ever minted in its denomination.

Struck from 1854-1889 with total mintage of under 540,000 coins, it was designed to simplify buying sheets of 3-cent postage stamps.

Many were melted during the 1933 gold recall, making survivors increasingly rare.

America's first $20 gold coin, the Liberty Head Double Eagle was authorized in 1849 during the California Gold Rush to handle the massive gold influx.

Minted 1849-1907, it contains 0.9675 oz of gold and became the backbone of commerce through the Civil War, Reconstruction, and Gilded Age.

Carson City and San Francisco mint issues are especially rare due to low mintages and 1933 melting.
