Camp RSR Sessions started yesterday and our little bookshop buddy, Sir Wordsworth Readsalot, is getting in on the fun too! Our newest tees have arrived just in time for sumner, and our bookish buddy can now be found on both Adult & Kid’s tee options!!

Mark your calendars Red Stick Readers because our next Boozy Book Fair is happening & our selection of books promises to be brimming with PRIDE!!! 🏳️‍🌈📚

June is PRIDE month, and we’re celebrating by heading back to our good friends at Rally Cap Brewing Company with a collection of books focused on allllll things celebrating PRIDE!! Rallyycap will be handling the “boozy” side of things with their impressive selection of beers, as well as their yummy pizza. Red Stick Reads will be handling all the bookish nostalgia, while bringing a dash of feel-good vibes from the book fairs we enjoyed long ago!

📚What is a Boozy Book Fair?!?📚

If you enjoyed the excitement of a Book Fair coming to your school when you were a little kid, and would love to experience it as an adult, and this time the book fair comes to one of your favorite hang out spots….then look no further! Red Stick Reads is SO excited to continue making these happen in and around Baton Rouge , and we are thrilled to announce that we are partnering up again with our good friends Rally Cap Brewing Company to keep the bookish fun coming!

📚⛺️What can you expect with Camp RSR Sessions?

We will be offering Camp RSR Sessions throughout the months of June & July, and our goal is to make it easy for our Red Stick Reader community to enjoy meaningful moments of connection with each other through stories, sometimes songs, and always thru simple, themed arts & crafts activities all summer long.

📚⛺️When are the Camp Sessions happening and what is the age range? ?

There will be weekly sessions offered throughout June & July with actives that will be geared so that all ages can find something on our schedule to enjoy.

June has officially arrived, and Red Stick Reads is ready to help our readers kick off a summer we hope is brimming with great books!

We love filing our months with as much bookish fun as possible, and this summer we’re excited to introduce weekly opportunities for our Red Stick Reader community to go beyond the books with us….

Introducing Camp RSR! 📚⛺️🤓☀️

Camp RSR is our new summer theme in the bookshop, and it’s the perfect time to invite our readers to explore ways to connect to books, to each other and to the world around us. The fun is for all ages, and we invite you to explore what Camp RSR can offer YOU this summer!

In addition to our usual offerings of story times, book clubs, and author events, our weekly Camp RSR Sessions will be opportunities for our readers to explore books, while also having fun with simple arts & crafts projects and each other.

The making of this video was done by the eldest member of our team, the resident “boomer”, you might say 🤪, and It only took me…I mean…”her” ….eleventy thousand hours to figure out how to edit and record this herself . So go gentle on her. Despite the difficulty of instagramming while in her 50’s, she did mention how therapeutic this kind of was, and that she enjoyed it. She’s even tempted to make & share more videos this summer.

is diving into a Romantasy selection,

Story Time:
Last year’s Hot Art, Cool Night doubled as our Grand Re-Opening, and the night ended on a super special note when 2 customers got engaged in the bookshop. The moment was such a surprise, and it immediately created such a special memory for us.

Fast forward one year later, and last night these 2 special customers returned to the exact spot of their engagement, and snapped this picture celebrating their moment. (Their engagement picture is framed right behind them )

Nights like Mid City’s Hot Art, Cool
Night, and customers like J and S, keep us fueled and reminded of our “WHY” when it comes to our dreams for Red Stick Reads. ….& it goes well beyond just the business we are running. It’s the community we are working hard to build.

To get to be part of special moments in our customer’s lives ….an engagement, a birthday, a graduation, a new baby…..will be something we never take for granted. Building connections and building community is the Red Stick Reads dream, and we are honored to be able to do that.

Thank you to and to our AMAZING neighbors for putting on another beautiful night in our Mid City filled with art, music, food, and friends.
