Master the Ultimate Infinite Activation Loop
The Combo: Panther Habit + Walking Ballista
Combining these two cards creates a flawless infinite activation loop right on your battlefield. While it does not automatically increase the net number of counters on its own, it allows you to activate the pinging ability an infinite number of times completely for free. This gives you a powerful, self-sustaining engine that operates entirely at instant speed.
To set up this interaction, you need both Panther Habit and Walking Ballista on the battlefield with the Habit equipped to the Ballista, ensuring the creature has at least two +1/+1 counters to survive. You execute the loop by removing a counter from Walking Ballista to deal one damage to itself. As the ability resolves, Panther Habit replaces that damage by putting the counter right back, allowing you to repeat this process infinitely.
This interaction results in an infinite loop of ability activations without ever risking your creature. While it acts as a perfect engine foundation, you can easily pivot this into infinite damage by adding a replacement modifier like Hardened Scales or Winding Constrictor to net positive counters on every single loop. This forces your opponents to respect your board state instantly before you machine gun the table down.
