After enduring (yet another) lament by me about the lack of 100% cotton pajama pants available for purchase, Jason kindly asked why I “didn’t just make some?” What a great suggestion, and I’m thrilled with my very on-brand fabric choice. I’m now dreaming up many, many more pairs. What fabric print would you suggest?

Details: I had to join in on the fun of strawberry quilt blocks and wanted to make a mini size that I could use on a zipper pouch. First mini strawberry quilt blocks felt too small to be a focal point, second size was a smidge too big. The last one was juuust right with squares that finish at 5/8” 😅

Last year’s Christmas stocking scraps yielded this year’s tote bag! I’m making quilted tote bags as gifts, and this one takes the cake. Inner pocket, leather straps, and a double-sided improv panel made entirely out of scraps. See all pictures on the blog!

1. Leaning to weave (on a rigid heddle loom)
2. Making beeswax candles
3. Gardening
4. Traveling
5. Saving seeds
6. Braiding garlic
7. Embroidering
8. Knitting

…Also snuggling Riley, baking, and cooking! I’ve also been digging in the scrap bins for some scrappy projects because I still love quilting, but it also feels great to branch out. 🧶

Here’s a closeup of the cassette zipper pouch. I chose this selvage specifically because as a kid, I was really self conscious of my freckles and hated them. As an adult, I’ve grown to love everything about myself, and that includes a freckly face!
Cassette zipper pouch pattern was drafted by me and traditionally pieced. I did find two cassette zipper pouch patterns out in the wild, so my idea wasn’t apparently as novel as I thought. However, both patterns I found were FPP, and I was looking for different dimensions and look/feel, so I ended up making a cassette pouch that felt much more “me”. I had an old Michael Miller flower print in my stash that ended up being perfect for the center reels. I love when happy accidents like that happen!
Fabrics used were mostly bella solids. 50 weight for quilting and construction. Vintage zipper from my stash.

Thanks for all the love on the boombox f***y pack! It was such a fun make, and I’ve got a few other 90’s inspired items coming later this summer 😉. A few details about the make:
Boombox pattern is my own: I spent an inordinate amount of time looking at clip art of boomboxes, trying to figure out how to translate that to a fairly small f***y pack in a way that would still be recognizable as a boombox without sewing too many tiny pieces. I’m super pleased with the final result. F***y pack pattern is also my own! I’ve made so many now that I’m feeling good about the pattern and hopefully will start writing it soon so all of you can make one too!
Fabrics used were bella solids. 50 weight in various colors throughout.
