On Wednesday, May 4th, two local shops in Old Town Alexandria, Red Barn Mercantile and Penny Post, will donate 20 percent of all in-store AND online sales from both stores toward NCFA’s work.

Red Barn Mercantile offers high-quality, one-of-a-kind home furnishings, linens, gifts, and home décor, while Penny Post specializes in stationery, writing instruments and unique office and desk supplies. Both shops have curated a selection of special gifts for moms and other special caregivers in our lives – and while you shop, you’re helping NCFA create more forever families.

This small retailer has us jumping for joy! Looking for an afternoon snack, take a leaf out of Carly's book and pick up a bag of Poppy at Penny Post 🍿 Not only do they have a great selection of Poppy favorites, they also have beautiful stationary, notebooks and artisan cards 📚

As promised, I was back in Old Town for the Shopkeepers for Schools Fundraiser event. I was back at Penny Post and also stopped by Red Barn Mercantile for gifts for our School Counseling Team for School Counselor Appreciation Week. I also got great inspiration for National Parks trips. And calling all dog and cat owners! Take a look at these adorable gifts. The shopkeepers also revealed, “GW is coming in strong” in the completion to raise the most money. That can’t just be my purchases! Next stop, The Shoe Hive this weekend! Go get your Valentine’s Day gifts and make sure to mention GWMS during checkout! Thank you for supporting the PTA.

Have you purchased your Valentine’s Day cards? Do you need a silly gift? (The answer is always yes!) Head over to Penny Post and you will not be disappointed. The Shopkeepers for Schools fundraiser began today and 10% of your purchases between today and Feb 16 are donated back to the GWMS PTA. The school with the highest total sales will double their donation. I found some of these gems and also made a few purchases for the Valentines in my house, plus some teachers, got some birthday cards, and bought some Mother’s Day gifts for my kids to “give” to me 😂. The card selection was pretty amazing. Tomorrow, I’ll head to Red Barn Mercantile and The Shoe Hive find some more goodies! Support our local businesses that are supporting our schools :)
