📼 URGENT: WATCH THIS TAPE! 📼
If you were lurking in chat rooms, message boards, or video rental shops back in early 2005, you might remember the absolute panic and hype surrounding the release of The Ring Two. To build viral buzz, DreamWorks did something legendary—they dropped these ultra-creepy, unlabeled guerilla marketing VHS tapes into the wild.
We just added three variants of these incredibly rare promotional tapes to the permanent archive at Killer Video!
Each tape features a frantic, handwritten note rubber-banded to the front, complete with abstract, disturbing illustrations and a URL directing victims to the now-defunct website www.she-is-here.com. The tapes contain a unique 75 second long cursed video that ends on the website url.
It’s the ultimate example of mid-2000s analog marketing bridging the gap into the early digital age.
Did anyone manage to stumble across one of these back in '05? Or did you dare visit the website before it went dark? Drop your memories in the comments below!
