Each Friday, Reading Cinemas presents 'Baby's Day Out' sessions. Relax and enjoy a movie without worrying about feeding in the dark or those unexpected hissy-fits disturbing other patrons. We'll keep the lights dimmed so that you can find what you need in the nappy bag or where that spat out dummy went. Entry is free for up to two children under 5 when accompanied by a paying adult. Koryu Aoshima

Koryu Aoshima’s striking mural transforms the side of Coffee Culture into a celebration of creativity and connection. Commissioned through a collaboration between Vibrant Alive, The Timaru Civic Trust, Coffee Culture NZ, and building owner Stephen Boys, the project began when Coffee Culture approached the team to help find the right artist. Aoshima’s concept immediately resonated.

Armed with 40 cans of paint, navigating a few rainy days and a steady stream of curious onlookers, Aoshima completed his second CBD mural — a lively, imaginative piece that brightens and complements the surrounding heritage architecture we’re so proud of.

The entire composition feels alive — a playful blend of nature, warmth, and everyday ritual. A peek around the corner reveals even more of the artwork, rewarding those who explore the laneway edges of the café.

It’s become a natural talking point for people enjoying a coffee in the outdoor seating area — a moment where art and daily life meet, and often the perfect starting point for a day of shopping and exploring in The Exchange.
