Professor Whatarangi Winiata (Ngāti Raukawa) and Sir Hirini Moko Mead (Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāi Tūhoe and Tūhourangi).
Both undertook and published crucial works for te ao Māori.
