A remarkable story of art, literature and friendship.

Discover the remarkable story of how Gertrude Degenhardt's illustrations and Elisabeth Schnack's acclaimed translation brought Liam O'Flaherty's stories to German readers in the award-winning edition Der Stromer.

The talk accompanies the current exhibition of more than 50 works by Gertrude Degenhardt at The Kenny Gallery, Galway. Drawing on almost fifty years of friendship with the artist, Tom Kenny will tell the story behind this extraordinary meeting of Irish literature, German publishing and artistic imagination.

Quay Books is delighted to support the Liam and Tom O'Flaherty Society in promoting this special event.
