Pam's Rocking Horses My name is Pam and for over 25 years I have been making and restoring wooden rocking horses.

There are a few places that weren't possible to fill using wood. There was a spot on his bottom that looked like someone had taken a bite out of it. Instead of filler, I used a mixture of very fine sawdust and PVA glue mixed into a stiff paste.

Pesky eyeballs...
I don't have a matching pair of eyes for Kipper, so I have dug out the paint and the dropper.
I tried other methods but I have most (but not much) control with the dropper.
Place your cabochons flat side up on a flat, level surface. Drip ONE drop of paint into the centre and leave to dry.
Keep lots and lots of kitchen towel handy to wipe off the paint to start over. 😄😄😄😄

More or less there. He looks like he's had a bad case of sunburn. 😄😄😄

I'm now removing paint from Kippers hoof rails. I note that on the underside of one of the brackets is a stamped number 3. Not seen that before on an Ayres bracket, something new every day. 😄

Puttering slowly about this morning. Been a tiring week with doing other jobs.
I've decided to give Ranger a backrest. This means he can have a nice nail on saddle and a saddlecloth and all the bling that goes with nail on tack.
Christian is pretty much ready to gesso. He and Ranger just need to be fixed to some temporary rails. They need these because you can't handle a wet, gesso covered horse easily. You can pick them up by the rails though.
Kippers ears have been glued and screwed on. The screw will come out when the glue is dry. They start off too big but will soon be carved to size.

The Stevensons horse has been relisted. There are loads of pics now. If you are interested, message the seller to ask if cash on collection is ok. This is reasonable and if they refuse for any reason, walk away.
