What a week at Royal Torbay Yacht Club! 🌊 The RS500 fleet also concluded their UK Nationals on the 6 September, as Paul “Spanner” Cullen & Fresh Abendstern, added RS500 National Champions to their list of titles in 2026.

🌊 Silver linings, big waves & a fleet full of smiles - silver fleet sailor Nicola Willars shares her experience from Day 2 at the RS400 Noble Marine National Championship at Hayling:

"As pond sailors, we’re still learning how to survive the lumpy beats and the 'hold onto your-soul' downwinds. Yesterday we cracked open the celebratory ‘no capsize Haribo’ far too early, forgetting the incoming tsunami on the sail home. "

Day 2 delivered capsizes, kites in the water, an abandoned race and plenty of smiles – plus cold beers on shore thanks to our Managing Director RS Alex Newton-southon. 🍻

And that’s what makes a Nationals special. New friends, fleet buddies, shared disasters, a bit of friendly rivalry and the feeling that you’re all in it together.

A huge well done to everyone out there, and especially our silver fleet sailors. 🙌

The final day of the RS800 UK Nationals saw lighter winds and full glamour on the sparkling seas of the English Riviera at Royal Torbay Yacht Club.
