Without naming names (because everyone has their personal favourite cleaning guru!) you may have come across a recipe or two for eco-friendly, home-formulated, cleaning mixes. And I bet some of them called for vegetable glycerin. But where to buy, where to buy?

A lot of people here love the dried mango! Well to all those people who thought ‘no! I won’t buy my mango in 100g plastic bags from the supermarket, I’ll get it from Another Weigh, Penrith!’ You saved 224 plastic packets from being wasted 🤯🤯🤯 and our Kendal shoppers saved another 268!

How much difference can one person make refilling a shampoo bottle? Well, over three months, the ‘individuals’ shopping here collectively stopped 66 500ml shampoo bottles from going to landfill, being burned, being dumped and finding their way into the environment, or from needing to be recycled. Just shampoo bottles. Just our Penrith customers. Just from February to April.
Stay tuned to find out how many washing up liquid bottles, pasta packets, spray bottles, packets of nuts etc etc etc were also saved in that time!

The Great Big Green Week starts today! Our offering begins on Monday, where we’re doing daily sessions of helpful instruction on our system to highlight just how easy it is to massively reduce your plastic use. There’ll be snacks and cakes too!
So if you’ve ever wanted to make the change but felt a little nervous, come and see us in the shop any day this week!

When I was in a Penrith supermarket, known for its high quality produce, yesterday, I happened upon some lovely coffee that was roasted in February and was good until November. Now there’s nothing wrong with that, I bought some to try and it tastes great but the more recent the roast, the better the flavour.
So I thought I’d add some extra labelling to our coffee offering… pictured is the House Red, which was roasted on Monday. We also have a decaf that was roasted last Thursday and another bean called Penny Rock, that was roasted the day after. Thank you redbankcoffee 😊
