It’s that time of year again when the air turns crisp and cosy evenings are calling! ❄️ We’ve just received the brand new Moomin Mini Hot Water Bottle in the shop – perfect for keeping warm on chilly nights or snuggling up with a book.
Not only are they super soft and cute, but their mini size makes them even better than big hot water bottles – lighter, easier to carry, and just right for warming cold hands, tucking under a jumper, or keeping by your side on the sofa.

Welcome to the Official page for the Moomin Shop London - Covent Garden!
Moomin is a very diverse brand, hosting different components in different eras of the last 75 years - That’s right, 75 Years of Moomin!!!
Starting out as a book series spanning from 1945 to 1970, Moomin was already the signature of author, Tove Jansson (1914-2001) - already featuring in her illustrations in GARM in the 1930’s.
Later, the stories were developed further into comic strips that were ultimately finished by Tove’s Brother, Lars.
Other adaptations include the infamous Japanese animation which aired on CBBC during the 1990’s; a felt puppet animation, which ran from 1977-1982, and was originally produced for Polish, Austrian & German Television but made it’s way over to the UK in the 1983.
Since those times, Moomin has progressed to great heights, despite the passing of Tove in 2001. In early 2015, there was a resurgence of Moomin due to a new film, based on the comic strip ‘Moomins on the Riviera’ and in 2019 came a fabulous remake of the original series, named ‘Moominvalley’.
Moominvalley caused a joyous uproar in the Moomin community and introduced a whole new generation of Moomin fans. It was also a smash hit musically as the soundtrack was released by Sony Music and featured world-renowned artists such as Tom Odell; Alma & MØ.
The series continued strongly with the second series being released at the end of 2019!
There is still lots more to come from Moomin as a brand and we are honoured to be able to share this world with you in the Heart of London!
It’s hard to believe that we’ve been around for nearly a decade now. During that time, many people have enjoyed the nostalgic feeling of our treehouse-like shop. For the adults who grew up with it, it’s a step back in time and always brings a smile to their faces. And for the kids, its just a magical discovery of lovable and relatable characters and who always love to learn more of Moomin’s adventures.
