A one-stop sewing shop offering a very special collection of designer and organic fabrics for dressmaking, quilting, soft furnishings and craft. The shop operates over two floors and incorporates a space for our Ray Stitch Sewing School below in the basement.

Log Cabin Quilt Blocks is officially out today! This brilliant debut book by the fantastic Catherine-Marie Longtin is bursting with inspiration, and sure to catch your eye whether you’re a quilter or not.
Contained within the pages are images of 100 contemporary quilts as well as the instructions on how to stitch them yourself.
After shipping all our preorders we still have some copies available in store, which we have displayed with a number of beautiful pieces that Catherine has created- we’ve even put together some special linen fat quarter bundles after being inspired by the wall hanging she made.
We will be hosting Catherine for a special event in September where she will give some insight into her creative process, you can reserve your place now by emailing [email protected], more details to follow soon! ✨

A new make from Alice- the Sauvie Sundress by ! We’ve been loving this pattern recently, it’s the perfect breezy summer dress with a gentle A-line shape that’s easy to wear on these hot days.
Alice has made hers in a vintage linen and our washed linen would be a great choice for it too.

We’re stocked full with brands you’ll know and love and hopefully some exciting new ones too.
Some of our most well loved pattern brands include Merchant & Mills, Puff + Pencil, The Assembly Line, Atelier Brunette, Alamain, and Wardrobe by Me.
In store we also have our beautiful sample rail full of garments made up for you to see, try on, and be inspired ✨

One of our latest samples- the Abby dress by Wardrobe by Me is the perfect choice for these hot sunny days, easy to wear but with just the right amount of refinement.
We’ve stitched ours up from a lovely Moda cotton print, the collection is graphic but still gentle, in a soft array of warm greys and neutrals.

Amelia from Paloma Stitch is joining us in July for a couple of three-hour hand embroidery workshops! 🪡
Working through a beautifully prepared sampler, you’ll learn eight foundation stitches including French knots, satin stitch, chain stitch, and lazy daisy, with plenty of time to work at your own pace, play with colour, and find your creative rhythm.
All levels welcome, including complete beginners.
We have two dates available in July on Sunday the 5th and Thursday the 16th ✨

Last call for applications!
We will soon be conducting interviews for our new assistant manager, so if you or someone you know is thinking of sending an application now’s the time ⏰
We’re looking for someone energetic and enthusiastic to come and help with the daily goings on here at Ray Stitch. A love for all things sewing and fabric is a must, as well as great retail experience.

Thank you so much again to everyone who came by the shop this last month, we really are so delighted that Me Made May was so well attended.
One lucky customer has won our raffle and has a lovely Ray Stitch voucher in the post to them 🎟️
We also couldn’t resist posting some more Me-Mades, we simply had so many photos of you all that we wanted to share.
