- As the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup kicks off, we are still buzzing from the incredible celebration at Ripon Cricket Club during Catch the Spirit Week!

​Ripon might be Yorkshire’s smallest city, but our community showed up in a big way for the ‘Picnic on the Pitch’ event back in May. The energy was unmatched as everyone got a taste of the massive World Cup excitement heading to host venues across England and Wales, including our very own Headingley!

​At Little Bird Made, we love nothing more than bringing people together, and we were absolutely thrilled to help create such a vibrant atmosphere. A massive thank you to the incredible partners and sponsors who made this day so special.

The pitch was alive with colour, laughter, and so much community spirit, making it an unforgettable day. The Mayor of Ripon, Cllr Andrew Williams even stepped out into the middle to face an over - what a sport!

The ‘Picnic on the Pitch’ was just the warmup. World Cup fever has officially arrived in Yorkshire! We can’t wait to watch the world's best international stars take the stage at Headingley, Leeds this month.

New Trader Alert! We are absolutely thrilled to welcome the incredibly talented Ufy Art to our community!

​Ufy made her brilliant debut last weekend with Little Bird Made at Knaresborough Castle and Harrogate Valley Gardens Artisan Markets, showcasing her unique, deeply moving, and colourful artwork.

​Based in York, Ufy is a contemporary visual artist with a fascinating background in psychology. Instead of focusing on traditional realism, her work prioritises raw emotion, capturing both the fragility and strength of what it means to be human.

​In her own words:

"Through expressive portraits, vivid abstract paintings, and unique characters, I aim to transform inner emotion into something visible, relatable, and deeply human."

​Her stunning work explores the depths of the human mind, mental health, struggles, healing, and the ongoing journey of growth using expressive brushwork and vivid colours.

Artisan Market and Drovers Day? Yes please!

​Little Bird Made and our artisans are heading to Wetherby this Sunday, and it’s going to be an extra special one.

​Not only can you shop incredible local, independent makers around the Town Hall, but the whole town will be alive with music and colour for the annual Wetherby Drovers Day.

Expect brilliant brass bands marching through the streets, community vibes, and plenty of fantastic shopping.

​Where: Market Place, Wetherby (LS22 6NE)
When: Sunday 14th June | 10am – 3pm

Saturday’s Artisan Market at Knaresborough Castle was an absolute testament to the amazing community spirit. Despite the mixed weather, visitors turned up in droves to support our incredible independent traders.

​One of our wonderful artisan traders, Janine and Richard from Beau Pens, had an absolutely cracking day and sent us this lovely message that we just had to share:

"We hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend. Beau Pens would like to say a massive thank you to Jackie, Julie, and the entire Little Bird Markets team for a fabulous day. Even with the rain, so many lovely people came out to Knaresborough Castle to support the artisan market!

To everyone who stopped by, chatted with us, and purchased a pen on Saturday, thank you so very much. Your support for our handmade business means the world to us. Knaresborough is an absolutely stunning place with beautiful views, and it’s officially our new favourite location! 🥰

It was also wonderful to trade alongside such talented, friendly fellow artisans. Thank you."

Malton in Bloom is a thriving community gardening campaign run by a passionate team of volunteers and managed by Malton Town Council. Since 2017, their mission has been to keep Malton looking blooming marvellous all year round with their extensive array of colourful, fragrant flower beds and planters.

​Today, we are celebrating the incredible green thumbs behind these displays!

​At our Artisan Market in May, the team set up shop with a stall bursting with beautiful plants and flowers. And what a day they had! Thanks to your incredible support, they raised over £300 in plant sales, with every single penny going right back into maintaining the floral displays around this gorgeous North Yorkshire town.

​We look forward to seeing Malton burst into colour throughout 2026, and we can’t wait to welcome these brilliant growers back to our future events.
