👏 An amazing night with Comedian Suzi Ruffell at The Old Woollen.
🤭 Many of the audience members had followed her career and been to her stand up shows, and last night was a fantastic opportunity for them to find out more about Suzi and her book, ‘Am I Having Fun Now?’
📖 Suzi spoke openly and candidly, just as she does in her memoir, detailing how her life has been shaped by her anxieties.
📚 She explained how she has always found companionship in books and how she’s always looked for a book that would make her feel less alone in her anxiety and make her laugh. She decided she wanted to put just that, out there for others.
🛳️ We heard everything; from her realisation that she was gay when she was eleven, when she was exposed to a certain Kate Winslet scene in Titanic, to how flying over to Canada to do a standup show, should have been an adventure but she was crippled by a crisis of anxiety and hid away in her bedroom.
✍️ Suzi’s book is a relatable read and we now have signed copies in the bookshop. Take in her personal reflections on work-life balance, navigating stress and treating anxiety as an inevitable companion rather than an enemy.
❤️ Honest, moving and of course very funny, Suzi’s book is a reflection of our delightful evening spent in her company.
