We would like to apologise to anyone who was caught up in the traffic gridlock on Saturday. Unfortunately, delays on the roads are outside our control, but we completely understand how frustrating and inconvenient this would have been.

No parking fines will be issued to anyone who was affected by the delays exiting the car park, so please be assured that no further action is needed from you.

We’re also pleased to confirm that the right‑hand turn out of the Tesco Trinity Square car park onto Lambton Street has now fully reopened. This should significantly improve traffic flow and make journeys much smoother for those travelling north of the river.

The car park has now reopened, sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you to Northumbria Police for their assistance. No fines will be issued for overstays in the car park today.

Apologise for any inconvenience but the car park at Trinity Square is currently closed due to traffic congestion in Gateshead. The car park has been closed on Police advice. We will provide an update as soon as we can.
