April felt like one of those months where creativity completely took over in the best possible way.

I made new collections, uploaded 50 designs to Spoonflower, painted tropical birds, found a new favourite art supply, and became obsessed with colourful doors.

The downside is that I spent very little time on the business side of things, prospecting, outreach, and all the less exciting but necessary tasks. So I’ll be shifting gears slightly, this month; more admin, more pitching, and a (teeny) bit less drawing, but still exactly the same amount of tea, coffee and biscuits 😁

It’s May!

A month of lovely things, and most importantly, my BIRTHDAY 🎉 Which can only mean one thing (besides cake and presents): my annual birthday sale!

It’ll be running from 23rd–31st May, so if you’re on my newsletter, keep a beady eye on your inbox 👀
(And if you’re not, now’s your moment!)

This image is from my 2026 calendar, and it’s one of my favourites. It’s the little allotment garden in the playground at Arto’s school. I sat there one sunny evening, quietly drawing this exact scene, and it turned into one of the most peaceful couple of hours I can remember.

Which feels slightly ironic because during term time, I imagine it’s absolute chaos here! Funny how the same place can feel so different, depending on the moment.

If you’d like early access to the sale, you can join my newsletter via the link in my bio x

Borrowed (stole) the kids’ Paint Pops and accidentally had a moment - why are these actually so good?! Velvety and quick-drying…I might not be giving them back 😂
Quick little sketch of the hills behind the garden whilst they played independently, which lasted all of 15mins but still, it was bliss!

Happy Earth Day!

A little reminder that even the smallest things, like planting a few seeds, can make a difference.

This year’s Earth Day theme is all about collective action “Our Power, Our Planet”, a reminder that the everyday choices we make (such as buying local produce, growing our own etc) can have a real impact.

If you’ve been thinking about starting a vegetable patch or growing on your windowsill, I’ve put together a simple UK spring planting guide to help you get started, just comment GUIDE and I’ll send it over to you 😃

March recap… (only slightly late 😅)

April has started in a blur with Easter holidays, so I’m only just getting round to this, but March was a full one!

Mystery Boxes didn’t quite fly out like usual (hello algorithms 🙃) BUT all 50 did sell out in the end thanks to you sharing and supporting me, honestly so grateful.

A spontaneous London weekend with my sisters (accidentally over Mothering Sunday!), lots of laughs, wine, The Book of Mormon and a good wander round the National Gallery, fave was Van Gogh.

Back in the studio working on a brand new Farmer’s Market collection (already pitching it + sampling a tea towel 👀)

Slowly… very slowly… getting back into running after my first 5K race in 8 years 🏃‍♀️

Working on a new puffin range for a stockist in Orkney🐧

And a little “this might turn into something” moment with my cowboy dog designs 🤞

Delivered my biggest art print to long time customer (and great pal) - it was huge!

All in all, a month of small wins, a few surprises, and lots of in-between moments ❤️

A wee photo dump of February highlights, in no particular order!

1. Sketches of the kids searching for flat stones for skimming with
2. Sleeping in and missing my early morning flight to Birmingham for the Spring Fair. I was able to catch a later flight, and even though that got delayed, I still managed to catch up with suppliers and see the Christmas Noel collection I designed for Langs. You can read all about it in my latest blog post here: https://www.cherithharrison.com/christmas-woodland-animal-collection-with-langs/
3. Postcards I created as part of a larger bespoke range for Kailzie Estate - I love this collection so much
4. Snowdrop Love
5. Snow Fun
6. Sticker Joy
7. One of the tea towels in my new Spring Gardening range
8. A new pattern collection called Vintage Florals that I’ll be pitching to companies in the coming months for Spring 2027
9. A night away in St Andrews, where we recreated a photo we took in 2009. A lot has changed since then…though I’m fairly sure I still have those trainers somewhere

I’m definitely ready for longer, lighter March days now! Xx
