A Copper Leaf Semi-hollow Single-cut! Complete with signature - handmade by the master luthier himself!? Unbelievable!
Very light, plays like a dream, looks awesome. And the fretboard inlay is amazing - aluminium and copper I think. Aluminium ring side inlays, mahogany neck, tuners. 3-way switch, single volume and tone k***s. LP style, but with a volute and straight string pull 😉
Not sure what the pickups are - PAF sounding, but I'm no expert. Maybe Crimson's Classic Hookers?
I nearly forgot to eat lunch!

Stupidly forgot to take a photo with my Sgian Rèidh in the shot 🤦

Dear ,

TL;DR DaveDavePicks STL files are here: github.com/davedavepicks/davedavepicks_stls (clickable link in my Link Tree)

I haven't posted in a while. I also haven't made any picks in a while. I had big plans for the summer, but it's now feeling increasingly wintery, and that's none of it has happened. Things are just too busy, and making picks is one of the things I've had to drop.

So, to somehow still stay engaged, I have decided to opensource my 3d printing designs. Some of these took weeks to create, some took just hours, and if I don't have time to print and finish them, maybe others will.

What this means:
- I will not be stopping making picks, I just don't have time just now;
- I will continue to make models added here, plus others that aren't;
- the vast majority of people do not have the equipment to produce these picks, but for those who do, I'm happy to supply these files free of charge, they are unsupported;
- anyone can download, edit and 3-D print these designs as long as they attribute the designs to me, with this as the source;
- they can sell their prints of my designs as-is, and/or their adaptations, but must also share their designs with the same license (see the CC BY-SA 4.0 LICENSE file).

I am also happy to take contributions, ideas, etc., if anyone would like to contributed a new design or modify an existing design, or suggest a change to an existing design for me to make (tip too sharp/rounded, grip to flat/textured, thumb pick or finger pick size not quite right, etc.).

Two of the best, most thought provoking, most dynamically interesting picks I've ever used.

The man himself has put perhaps more preparation, grey matter and white matter into these picks than any of us. And the result is nothing short of excellent.

The Title, left, and The Deacon, right. In corian. My first picks in this material. The time is closer to my agate picks than my other composite picks. Very cool.

The shape on the Deacon allows for the softests of strums to the most biting of riffs, while the Title gives you the kind of dexterity that makes your brain grow extra synapses just to keep up.

Wonderousness!

P.S. it is a matter of personal pride that I didn't know the name of this song, but I played it once into Google and it was the first hit. Dsus2, E and A from memory is not usually the kind of trick I can pull off!

I've tried a couple of ideas around a broad-tipped, large-radius pick in the past. Check out the Cruinn on my website (Link in Bio). Then one day I heard the call of nature, visited the salle de bain, looked down, and saw the outline of this one! I took a photo, which I will not share, and designed the Throne!

Obviously it needed a 🚽 logo.

Lots of tool marks from the rushed finishing and a crack repair (😯), but it plays pretty well...

Should I make a few of these!?

PROBLEM SOLVED

For too long people have been making memes about losing their picks. It's a fun in-joke for . But it must be addressed.

Boutique pick collectors of the will tell you they never lose theirs, because they're not disposable mass-produced rubbish. But that's more of a retort than a solution.

INTRODUCING: the Compasspick! The only pick in the world that can never get lost, and you will be lost without!

Made from hard UV resin added to a 3d printed ABS-like resin frame and encompassing a compass, with added dots that will glow under UV light.
This pick will always keep you moving in the right direction and help you find your way through the most complex of arrangements.

Great for touring musicians. Especially those touring on foot in the mountains.

Get it touch of you want to reserve this before it's listed.

Guitar therapy!

Introducing my awesome new monster pedal from - the ASTEROID Blaster! Featuring Michael's Empty Skies (fuzz) into his new MIRROR MIRROR (dual delay with parallel and cascading modes) into Blown A Wish (yes, fuzz) and double force pads, one sending one side of the MIRROR MIRROR into chaos and the other sending the Blown A Wish into, well, exploding Asteroids!

Also featured, The Copper V4 Amp (which is also powering the pedal), resin guitar pick with foam rubber grip inserts, and an appropriately named beer from .

Why "guitar therapy"? After a stressful few days and an enormous potential bill for required work, we said goodbye to the car that has got us through the last 101,000 miles, two in-labour trips to the hospital and many family holidays, because, sadly, it costs more to completely rebuild an engine than the car is worth. Around 4 times more.

I'm going to go and destroy more space rocks! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do this crazy thing and for your willingness to experiment!

A happenings afoot!
Working with the amazing , who let me have a lot of fun and get all experimental with this design, the Emmergy logo is placed at the centre of these picks, giving a 3d all-round view of it. These have taught me a lot!
Every pick is different, inlayed with aluminium, brass, copper and carbon black inlay powder, metallic mica (this was bad, don't do this with UV resin) and various glitters (stolen from children) and day-glow powders, then topped up with resin with various funky additions. Finally shaped, scraped, sanded and polished.
And this is but batch one! More to come from this collab!

This is the final prototype (of many) of the Uinneag (Window), with my tribute to the and all the amazing makers in it.

This pick has been in my head for over a year now. It is a seamless, completely smooth resin pick with unsupported text "inlayed" at its centre using copper powder. Not on the surface, or under a layer of finish, but exactly half way through the pick. Which is, of course, incredibly difficult to photograph!

All hail 🙌

There are a couple of easy-to-fix imperfections, and the text needs to be bolder. Otherwise, I'm really happy to get this idea to work!

Also considering personalised text/logos for custom orders if there's any interest?

Hello! Long time no post.

So happy to get back into it with this set of Ã’rd and Sleagh thumb picks and Sgeilbean finger picks.

3d printed in "vintage ivory" coloured ABS-like resin, hand-painted logos and hand finished.

The beautifully made Fret Polishing Strop is excellent for pick edges with a bit of Autosol on one side and carborundum+oil on the other!
