Opportunity for local modellers (Aberdeen/shire).

We’re looking for someone local who would ideally be a hobbyist, who would have some experience in using CNC for modelling.

Specifically, we have a CNC router which we’d like to get some more use out of! We’re not really looking for a professional CNC machinist (although that would be amazing), but rather someone who maybe has some skill in 3d printing or similar who feels they could adapt those skills. We’d be looking to offer you the use of the machine for personal projects (or club ones, but not commercially) in return for assisting with our own projects.

It’s a large 2.5 x 1.25M vacuum bed so will take 8’x4’ sheets with no cutting!

We’re also not expecting you to turn up and output a project within half an hour! We’d rather offer the opportunity to some local hobbyists (whether your hobby is model railways, Radio control, Dolls house making, furniture making or just playing with cool CNC toys, it’s more about finding someone who could make use of this to aid their own hobby) who feel they could adapt their current skills with no pressure, and give them the chance to do some cool things along the way for themselves.

We’re also more than happy for this to be more than one person, so if you’re worried about lack of free time or commitments, there’s no expectations. It’s a personally owned machine and we want to use it for some cool things rather than anything particularly saleable.

It’s not a job offer, hence we’re more than happy for more than one individual to come and both help us, and benefit themselves.

We’d also be open to more “remote” help if you’re not in the area but feel you could assist by phone or Remote Desktop etc, then we’re more than willing to consider this too.
