✨🤩 Okay, this might be one of the coolest oddities I’ve had come through Old School Furniture! 🤩✨

At first glance, you’d be forgiven for wondering what on earth it is. 👀🤔

This beautiful chrome machine is a vintage Castle Speed-Clave No. 777 — a countertop steam sterilizer made by the Wilmot Castle Company in Rochester, New York. 🇺🇸⚙️

These machines used pressurized steam to sterilize instruments and were found in professional medical and dental settings. 🩺🦷 Similar equipment also became a familiar sight in old barbershops and tattoo studios. 💈🖤🪒

And the design! 😍✨ That huge pressure gauge, heavy locking chamber, mechanical timer, polished metal body and original blue Castle badge give it such an incredible mid-century industrial look. ⚙️⏱️🔥

Today I think its best second life might be as a seriously cool conversation piece. 💥 Imagine it displayed in a tattoo studio 🖤, barbershop 💈, restaurant 🍽️, retail space 🛍️, medical collection 🩺 or even in the home of someone who loves unusual industrial antiques. 🏠✨

This one has been a long time coming. 🖤✨

I picked up this solid pine hall stand years ago, when its very 80s/90s finish made it hard to imagine in a current home. 🤎 I started painting it, never quite finished it… and it ended up sitting in my project pile for far too long. 🪵⏳

I finally pulled it back out and finished what I started. 🙌🎨

The black completely changed it. 🖤 The turned details and oversized mirror suddenly feel much more intentional, and I can see it working as an entryway piece, hall console, bedroom mirror, or even in a bathroom. 🏡✨ It doesn’t currently have hooks, but they could easily be added if someone wanted to use it as a traditional hall tree. 🪝

I digitally staged it a few different ways because I was genuinely curious. 👀💭

This beautiful solid oak & ash church pew came in because someone had added a large pew to my new customer wishlist. 👀

I found one! 🙌 But once it arrived, it turned out to be a little too nice for the outdoor use they had in mind — so this beauty is now available. 🤎

It’s been freshly cleaned and waxed and has gorgeous grain, substantial solid-wood construction and carved trefoil details on the ends. 🌿

🧵 One Original Piece. Many Possibilities. 🪵

This remarkable antique wooden quilting frame is a beautiful piece of textile and woodworking history—with its original long rails, shaped trestle ends, wooden pegs, paddle and winding rod still present.

At an impressive 88” long, it has incredible potential beyond its original purpose. Add reclaimed old wood and a simple black steel centre brace to reimagine it as a dining table, console, office desk, potting bench, outdoor market table or sideboard/buffet—while allowing the character of the original frame to remain the star.

Designed by acclaimed American designer Alexander Julian for Universal Furniture, this substantial vintage coffee table comes from his distinctive 1990s Home Colours collection. 🪵

The warm natural pine finish, rounded mouldings and tailored panel details give it the character of a well-made designer piece, while the two inset glass tops make it especially unique. 🌾 From the hayloft to a show-stopping interior feature…

This extraordinary antique wooden hay sling was once an essential piece of farm equipment, used to lift large loads of loose hay from a wagon into the upper loft of a barn. Its original wooden rails and iron release hardware remain intact, preserving both its history and wonderfully weathered character.

Today, it has incredible potential as the piece that completely finishes a space. Suspended over a kitchen island, it becomes a spectacular pot rack for copper cookware, baskets and dried herbs. It could also be transformed into a laundry-room drying rack, retail clothing display, floral installation or dramatic architectural feature in a restaurant or shop.

At approximately 74” long × 16” deep, it has enough scale to make a genuine statement without overwhelming a residential room.

✨ Handwoven 8’ × 10’ Jute Area Rug ✨

A substantial handwoven jute rug with a beautifully chunky texture and warm, earthy colouring. 🌿

The natural jute foundation is woven with accent fibres in muted teal, rust, cream and charcoal, giving the rug extra depth and a subtle sheen. The secondary fibres appear most likely to be viscose/rayon or sari-silk-type fibres, although the exact blend is unknown.

A versatile piece that would work beautifully in a living room, bedroom or dining area. 🏡

✨ A striking set of four monumental vintage geometric relief panels with incredible architectural presence.

Each panel features 55 individually applied, hand-textured squares arranged in a bold grid and finished in a warm golden-ochre tone. The raised surfaces create beautiful depth, shadow and texture, making these panels especially impactful in both natural and directional light.

Together, the four panels create a dramatic large-scale installation with approximately 12 feet of visual span before spacing. They make an exceptional statement in a residential setting such as a living room, entryway, bedroom or loft, and are equally compelling in commercial interiors including restaurants, hotel lobbies, offices, reception spaces, studios or boutiques.

These are being offered as attributed to Vancouver Island artist Dan Herman.
