Alexisonfire, Old Crows/Young Cardinals. It came out in 2009 and was the follow up to their wildly successful rock & roll album, Crisis.
You know, we often observe the majestic Crow and its equally lovely cousin the Cardinal joyfully frolicking in their natural habitat of downtown Toronto (completely natural), and can’t help but be awestruck by their combined beauty, brutality, and grace.
Many of these observations can easily be passed on to the record of subject. Old Crows/Young Cardinals was celebrated by both Canadian critics (polite and proper), along with countless critics south of the border. It’s just a killer hard rock record and it’s available now, in the store… Get it.

Back in stock, Infinite Arms, the third album from Band of Horses, released on May 18th 2010. It was made without assistance or funding from a record label after the band left Sub Pop. Several of the tracks were written by Ben Bridwell whilst staying in a cabin in Minnesota near the Canada–US border, so it’s basically Canadian content. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Alternative Album category.

In short, it’s a film about the daughter of a con artist who struggles to come to terms with her father's past, which involved the fourth-largest seizure of counterfeit bills in U.S. history, worth nearly $20 million US smackaroons. It’s based on Jennifer Vogel's 2004 book, Flim-Flam Man : A True Family History, and is absolutely worth a watch if you have the time.

The King of Limbs, the 2011 eighth studio effort from Radiohead. It was produced by long time collaborator Nigel Godrich and was largely recorded over three weeks in the private Los Angeles home of actor Drew Barrymore (no kidding), along with the band’s private studio in Oxfordshire, England. As with most Radiohead records, The King of Limbs received widespread critical acclaim, and outside of making several “best albums of the year” lists, it was nominated for a total of five Grammy Awards. The sole single “Lotus Flower” was accompanied by a music video which garnered a lot of attention due to its minimalistic content, which was comprised mostly of Thom Yorke interpretively dancing to the track. One of the coolest music videos we’ve ever seen, to be honest.

All delivery orders placed after 4:00pm on Thursday will be scheduled for Tuesday delivery. Pick up orders placed between Thursday at 5:00pm and Saturday at 12:00pm will be ready for pick up on Saturday. We are running reduced hours that day, and are closing early at 3:00pm. Today is our first anniversary. On December 10th last year at 6:00pm, resoluterecords.ca went live. Humble beginnings would be the best way to describe the earliest days. The store was run out of my den in the apartment I share with my wife. We had less than three dozen titles in stock. All of the records were carefully stored in boxes laid out on the floor with titles alphabetized by artist. Shipping materials were stored in the bedroom closet. We had 45 followers here on Instagram, most of which were friends and family that I forced to follow me. I thought it would be best to just start with titles I like and to go from there. I wanted our social media feeds to be all about the album. Sharing some history and highlighting album art. The music loving community is something I’ve been a part of nearly my entire life, so I thought it would be fun to engage with some cool giveaways and share some of my personal collection. It seemed to catch on, and Resolute Records started to grow. Here we are one year later. The business outgrew the den so I moved it into an office in the West Queen West shopping district here in Toronto. We now have hundreds of titles in stock, with more coming in every week. We have built a strong and supportive following and I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many great like minded people. So really, all I can say is thank you. Thanks to everyone that took a chance and ordered some records from a new guy, and thanks to those that continue to support us. Thanks to everyone who has engaged with us here on the Insta. We love that you love the record album as much as we do. And finally, a big thank you to my wife Nadine, who has unconditionally supported me and cheered me on every step of the way.
