The hike has lake and stream views and the hut is about 4.8km in from the Lois Lake Recreation Site.

Golden Stanley Hut along the 180km Sunshine Coast Trail in qathet is a super peaceful hiking destination. The hut itself is nestled on a hill surrounded by trees and within earshot of a nearby stream. There are no tent pads but there were a two obviously cleared spots where tents could be placed.
We parked at the Lois Lake Recreation Site. This is where you will find the trail head as well. The trail itself goes along parts of Lois Lake giving hikers a glimpse of the water. There are several shoots off the tail that will take you right to the water as well if you’re keen for a swim and/or and cool off during the summer months.
From the recreation site to the Golden Stanley hut the trail was roughly 4.8km and took us about an hour and fifteen mins each way.

There’s always Putters Mini Golf! Putters is located right above Willingdon Beach Park and right beside the qathet Museum and Archives.
You can start up at the golf course play a game and/or grab a snack or ice cream treat and head down to the beach to soak up the sunshine or go for a stroll along the Willingdon Beach Trail. 🌲You could also check out the qathet Museum and Archives while in the area! 📜
