It was twenty years ago this month that I began working on my business plan for The UK Shoppe. Back in 2006, I use to drag my wife to Toronto once a month for my Jaffa cakes and lemon barley water. We were driving home one trip and I said, " I wish somebody would get off their ass and open a British shop in Peterborough!" Her response? "Why don't you do it?" And here we are today! I pitched my plan to the board at the Community Futures Development Corperation and received twelve out of twelve votes to proceed. In the past eighteen years we have survived a recession, terrible exchange rates, box stores, rival shops, on line shopping, a pandemic and even my Parkinsons diagnoses and that's because of YOU. I merely put pen to paper to get the ball rolling. All of YOU have kept it running! Shout out to my Dad, Paul, without whom the shop would not run. Thank you for your continued support, for today AND tomorrow! CHEERS! ๐โค๏ธ๐ฌ๐ง
