It’s been two months!✨
Two months ago today we opened the doors to our new home at Horlings Garden Centre, and we began writing chapter three of the Living Local story.
Since then, we’ve welcomed so many new and familiar faces and we’ve been overwhelmed by so much support and encouragement. You seem to be loving the new spaces we’ve created, and it makes our hearts happy to see you inspired and at ease here.
Why chapter three, you ask? Well, for those who haven’t been with us since the beginning, we started as a seasonal subscription box in the spring of 2020. We shared the work of artisans and small businesses in The Kawarthas as a passion project after I was laid off in the early days of the pandemic.
In the fall of 2021, we opened our storefront at Chemong & Milroy and expanded both our offerings and our reach. The corporate gifting side of our business, through gift baskets and boxes, also grew.
Chapter one and two gave us a firm foundation, and little did we know that the opportunity to “pop-up” at Horlings for the Christmas season would become a springboard to something new. You loved our Home For The Holidays and, overwhelmingly, you wanted us to stay.
And so, thanks to and our friends, hosts, and partners at Horlings, we are now surrounded by more beauty and camaraderie than we could have ever imagined. To be a part of creating this new destination experience in is truly a dream come true.
While the learning curve for our little business (i.e. for me) is steep, we couldn’t be more grateful.
If you’re new here, welcome. And if you’re continuing to turn the pages with us, thank you. You’re all an important part of this story; and we wouldn’t be writing it without you.
If you haven’t visited us at our new home yet, we would love to welcome you. We’re open seven days a week, from 9 am until 5 pm.
