You may have noticed things looking a little bit brighter on a Friday at the clinic? That’s because at CVS it’s ‘Feel Good Friday!!’ 🥳

Every Friday our team has decided to wear bright, colourful scrubs to not just celebrate finishing another busy week of helping patients, but to raise awareness and start the conversation about the appalling state of mental health in the veterinary industry.

Did you know that those in the vet industry are four times more likely to end their own lives than people outside the profession? That although we have the most amount of vets graduating in history, we are seeing the largest amount of vacant positions ever, with a 50% chance of vets changing careers by five years after graduation?

Currently in Australia on average we are losing one vet every three months to su***de.

We love our jobs, but the combination of long hours, high case loads, continuous on call and unrealistic owner expectations and financial constraints can lead to high stress, fatigue and burnout - or much worse.

Please be kind. You never know what another person is dealing with. We know our funky shirts won’t change the world, but if they make someone’s day just a little bit brighter, and help start a tough conversation, they’ve done their job 💗
