Many of us grew up listening to stories like **Tsuro naGudo**. They made us laugh, taught us lessons, and connected us to our culture. These stories have been passed down from one generation to the next for decades.
But for these stories to continue, our children first need to understand the language they’re told in.
Today, many children can identify a lion, elephant, or rabbit in English, but may not know the Shona words. They can name colours, objects, and animals, but only in one language.
The journey to preserving our stories doesn’t start with complicated books. It starts with simple bilingual books that teach everyday words, animals, colours, numbers, and objects in both English and Shona.
When children learn the language, they gain access to the stories, wisdom, humour, and traditions that come with it.
If we want future generations to enjoy **Tsuro naGudo** and countless other Zimbabwean tales, we must first give them the tools to understand them.
📖 Every bilingual book is more than a reading resource. It’s a bridge between generations.
