“Why Me” Remains in Custody
By Hannock Kasama
FRANCIS KAPWEPWE, also known as “Why Me”, has been denied bail by the LUSAKA Magistrates’ Court.
Resident Magistrate IDA PHIRI based her ruling on the fact that Mr. KAPWEPWE has no fixed abode.
This case involves Mr. KAPWEPWE, aged 29, who is charged with hate speech and with expressing hatred, ridicule, or contempt towards persons because of their race, tribe, place of origin, or colour.
He is also alleged to have ridiculed Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO.
Mr. KAPWEPWE has, however, denied the charges.
