The system was built on Watchout V7, running:

2 x WATCHPAX 60s
2 x custom-built WATCHOUT servers driving all video
1 x WATCHOUT Asset Manager server
2 x WATCHOUT Producer machines for timeline management.

We ran a full-resolution, mirror-redundant, in-sync system — seamlessly switchable across the full pixel load, from LED to projectors and comfort monitors.

This was a combined effort, with playback gear supplied by MGG & Pixel Nation, and real-time onsite support from Penmac ensuring flawless operation from first cue to final fade.

Afrikaans is Groot delivers an unforgettable experience at SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa, all powered by DiGiCo! 🎶🔥

With a capacity of 8,500 and nine shows over two weekends, drawing a crowd of 70,000, having the right equipment was crucial.

That’s why the audio team chose Quantum 338 and Quantum 326 Pulse at FOH, and a Quantum 338 and KLANG:technologies at the monitor position.

Head of Audio for the production, Kyle Freemantle, said: “DiGiCo consoles are at the top of my list because of their flexibility regarding Optocore networks and their ease programming.”

The use of multiple DiGiCo desks also significantly reduced setup times, with Kyle praising how "easy and straightforward" it was, thanks to Fourier Audio.
