For the first time, the Sabie Poles team attended the WoodEX for Africa and Big 5 Construct South Africa exhibitions at the Gallagher Convention Centre.
These events bring together industry professionals, manufacturers, suppliers, and innovators from across the construction and timber sectors, providing valuable insight into the latest technologies, trends, products, and developments shaping the industry.
Did we learn anything? Absolutely.
From innovative construction materials and advanced machinery to emerging interior and exterior design solutions, there was no shortage of inspiration and knowledge to take home. The exhibitions showcased just how rapidly the industry continues to evolve.
One of the highlights was reconnecting with familiar faces such as Scott from Rhino Wood while also building new relationships.
We had the pleasure of meeting many passionate professionals, including Vusi Mangaliso, who was kind enough to pose for a photo with us. We hope our paths cross again in the future.
The event was also filled with engaging presentations from industry experts, offering valuable perspectives on current challenges and opportunities within the sector.
A particularly exciting moment was the 2026 Rubio Monocoat South Africa Makers Build-Off Competition, where three talented competitors showcased their craftsmanship by creating furniture pieces of their choice under pressure.
