The Department of Basic Education has officially added coding and robotics to the subject roster for Grades R to 9 (old Sub A to Standard 7).

Twenty three chapters covering all aspects of the proposed CAPS curriculum for Coding and Robotics in grade 4.
Circuits with LEDs and piezo buzzers for micro:bit and Arduino;
Input, processing, and output for phones, tablets and laptops;
The Development of Communication Methods;
Presentations in PowerPoint;
Advantages and the dangers of the Internet and e- communication;
Text Formatting, Paragraph alignment, and inserting illustrations in Word;
Formulas to add and subtract, formatting and Bar Charts in Excel;
The Line Tool, Select tool, Eraser tool, Rectangle tool, and Circle tool in SketchUp;
Text variables, Number variables, Operator blocks to join, add, subtract, multiply and divide, Sensing blocks and if blocks, and instructions to create various games in Scratch/PictoBlox;
