Word of the Day: Self-Praise
Self-praise is the quiet courage to acknowledge your own growth, your own effort, your own becoming. It is not arrogance. It is not noise. It is a grounded recognition that you have come further than you sometimes allow yourself to see.
Too often, we wait for applause from the world, forgetting that the most important affirmation must come from within. Self-praise is not about declaring yourself above others, it is about refusing to diminish what you have survived, what you have built, and who you are becoming.
There is a kind of self-praise that is loud, performative, and hungry for validation. That is not the one that sustains. True self-praise is quiet, rooted, and deeply aware. It does not shout, it knows.
Do not wait for the world to clap for you; sometimes the most important applause is the one you give yourself.
Today, pause. Recognise yourself. Honour your journey.
