“Count it all joy” – James 1:2
Doesn’t it seem a bit inconsiderate? Being told that we should feel joyful when we go through hard seasons can make it seem as though our feelings and experiences don’t matter.
But have you ever heard someone say, “I would go through that again to be where I am now,” or “I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for that season in my life”? When we look back, we often see how much those moments shaped us.
The most important thing is that we lean into our Creator when we face these trials. He knows that we can get through anything with Him (Philippians 4:13). So when I read the verse “Count it all joy,” it’s almost as if God is giving me a sneak peek of what’s to come. The joy after the trial.
