In colloquial language, ‘Iskapie’ is an individual that sees and does things differently from societal norms and established perspectives. This translates to our design philosophy of taking your classic menswear clothing content and giving it a unique, tailored functional twist in its construction and aesthetic. We are proudly South African and often source our inspiration from our classic brands,

street culture, landscapes and all it has to offer to create content that can hold its own in all the fashion capitals of the world.

For the past few months I've been working with the freshest on the block working together on an Ubuntu skills-sharing project where all members of the collective each brought their individual skills and finesse to the table to cook up a really dope Upcycle Collection

It's been a great journey and got a chance to pass on the knowledge on cutting and stitching.

All the pieces are made from dead stock from both Skapies and Thrifts closets, where they are given a new life a new pulse for the streets

We have been experimenting with natural dye lately and we made these tumeric root dyed cheese cloth grocery bags for .ukutya.

Cheesecloth is 100 % cotton also used in straining stocks and custards and bundling herbs.

Turmeric dye fades over time, when exposed to the sun and after washing it, it gets lighter and lighter givind the piece a rustic feel.

We used muslin cloth fabric for the dye. Muslin is a cotton fabric of plain weave. It is made in a wide range of weights from delicate sheers to coarse sheeting. ✌🏾
