Hi😁

Sjoe, it's been one of those days...my Friday special & even our samoosas sold like hot cakes, not that that's a bad thing.

So, I only have 1 portion of mutton curry & rice left for R85.

I do have orders for butter chicken & garlic butter naan for tomorrow, so if you're interested, it's available from 11am tomorrow, R60 for a 350ml tub with 1 naan. We'll have our table outside till 2pm.

Ok, so my Jalebis turned out not perfect but also not bad😁, so I'm pretty chuffed for my first try...practice makes perfect.

So Jalebis are made from batter that's left overnight, then spirally shapes are fried in ghee or oil, then dunked in a sugar syrup flavoured with a hint of lemon juice, elachi (cardamom) & saffron if you have it.

I went a little easy on the sugar cos normally the hectic sweetness of Jalebi can leave you swinging from the chandeliers.

Then I tried red food colour in my syrup, wasn't happy with it, then mixed in some yellow, was hoping for an orange colour, but not really sure what colour I ended up with.

All in a days work😉

A bit of extra oil in my chicken curry today is perfect for a bunny chow.

So now that I'm done cooking, I'm going to attempt to make my favourite sweetmeats (Indian Sweet treat) ever... Jalebi.

Thanks to google I found a recipe, already have my overnight batter ready. If it works out, you'll see pics of it or on my shop counter tomorrow, if you don't see anything, then know I messed it up & failed miserably 😁

I ended up with greens hands today, because I like to get my hands into everything, cos sometimes a spoon just doesn't do it for me👐

Don't worry though, I wash my hands like umteen times a day...I promise!

I mentioned before about the bombs that constantly go off in my teeny tiny kitchen at the shop. Today was a flour bomb.

I did veg/vegan friendly rotis R45 (6) , garlic naan R36 (2 pack) & Chevda which is also a veg/ vegan friendly indian snack, where I toasted my cornflakes, rice puffs, & peanuts, added sultanas, then coloured & toasted my coconut flakes (hence the green hands) & then added loads of flavour with onions, curry leaves & spices🍃

All in all, it's been a productive day, I'm ready for home now, counting the minutes till 5pm.

Happy Friday😁

So today was one of those days where I was all over the place, didn't have a great start to my day & then my Lamb was taking forever to soften, but it's simmering away & it's now just how I like it.
