Preparation! If you have high hopes for your book, invest in a team of people to assist you. Get your manuscript professionally laid out; get a great cover designed. It really is worth the investment when you see your book on the shelves and it stands up admirably against those of the big publishers. Make sure the manuscript is properly edited and proof-read.
Submit your text and cover in PDF format for printing. Make sure you follow up with your printers regularly. Supply them with a blurb on the book – this is a medium length description which will be used to hook the salespeople and readers so it’s very important. Think about the pricing of your book. Do some research on similar books to yours. Get a realistic perspective on what sort of reception your book will receive
