Daphne stayed behind and looked at Eva who was crying on the floor. “ Eva, I always thought you were a good girl.

I guess it’s true when they say, the most innocent looking are the devils in disguise, and that’s exactly what you are". “ Shut up and leave me alone".

She stood up, took her bag and went to her cottage. She felt so alone. She had never felt so lonely in her life. Her mother died. Her fiancé left her for her evil half-sister. And her best friend betrayed her. Thinking about Jeffery, Eva became really furious.

She took her phone and called him. That bastard didn’t pick up. “ Jeffery pick up the goddamn phone". She dialed his number once again. He picked up after a while.

Eva was so mad, she started yelling at him. “ What the f**k Jeffery, how could you do this to me. You know how much I love Jerry. How could you do this.

"How could you do this to me Jeffery. You know how much I love Jerry. Why did you lie". “ Eva, understand me". "What did you have to do. Ruin my life. Jeffery have you seen how I’ve been. Everyone thinks I’m not the real daughter of the Jansen family. My mom is dead. And now you took the last thing I had".

Saying it out loud to someone else, it sounded sad. She started to cry again. “ Eva, I’m sorry but I had to. I couldn’t watch you marry another guy. I’ve always loved you Eva, I always will. Even if I’m miles away from you".

Eva quickly thought he was leaving the city. After all he did offend the mayor’s son “ What do you mean. You can’t leave me after this mess you caused this mess. Jeffery. Jeffery".

He had already hung up. Eva felt so betrayed. Why did she trust him. She should have ended their friendship when he said he loved her but then again she never knew things would come to this.

He always understood the bond between Eva and Jerry. It was family business and he said he would never do anything to ruin it. Now Eva was all alone.

What did Jeffery have to say. Eva kept quiet out of curiosity. “ Okay, I’ll talk,” Jeffery said. Jerry let him go

so he could talk properly. “ I’m really sorry man, I was tempted. I’ve always loved Eva.
But I thought

she loved u. One day, she came to my place, drunk. She told me she wasn’t happy with u. She told me

she wanted to let loose for once. And that’s how we ended up having a night,” Jeffery said.
“ What Jeffery, don’t

say that. How could u lie about me like that, Jerry don’t believe him,” Eva said tugging on
Jerry’s sleeve.

“ Eva how could u, I trusted u, how could u do this to me".
“ Jerry, please listen to me.I didn’t do it. I can prove it to u".Tears were streamingdown her cheeks. She lost her

mother and now she was going to lose Jerry. Why was this happening to her. “ Save it. How can I trust u again.

Mr. Jansen, I’m ending the engagement".

“ Jerry please don’t,” Eva begged again. Jeffery looked at her, Eva could see some regret in his eyes. “ I see, but we still

want the engagement to happen, why don’t u marry my real daughter instead, Daphne". Desmond didn’t care

that Eva was in the same room and she could hear everything. “ I’ll talk to my father first".

" I have to go. I’m really sorry Jerry I was tempted,” Jeffery said. Eva could see the regret in his eyes.

“ I don’t want to set my eyes on u,” Jerry said to Jeffery but he was looking at Eva.Eva was devastated when

she saw him leaving. Jeffery was also walking behind him. “ Jeffery tell them, u know I didn’t do it. Please tell the truth".

She was more than devastated. “ I already did. Or do u want me to tell them more, okay. U said that Jerry was

nothing but a weak little boy, and he wasn’t in ur standards,” Jeffery said and left. “ I’m a weak

little boy, huh. What did I ever see in u Eva". He then left. " Im glad u're not my daughter else my family’s name would be ruined". He went upstairs with Marianne.

Her voice started cracking. “ I’m sorry Miss, we tried our best to save her. She didn't make it. She had a stroke and due to delayed time,

we couldn’t save her,” he doctor said. Eva shook her head coz couldn’t believe it. Her mother would never die just when things were starting to get ugly.

She wouldn’t leave Eva like that. “ No, my mom is strong, she’s not dead. No, MOM, LET ME SEE MY MOM".She tried to walk past

the doctor but was held by Desmond. She pushed him away. “ It’s all ur fault. It’s ur fault mom is dead. I hate u Desmond Jansen,

I loath u". She ran away before she could be stoped. She ran into the hospital women bathroom. She entered a stall and sat on the floor.She felt so alone.She cried her heart out.

Jasmine was dead. She still couldn’t believe it. It was all Desmond’s fault. Eva stood in front of her mother’s grave.It’s already

been four days after Jasmine’s death. Everyone else has left already. She stood there all alone. She knelt down. Desmond seemed to

hate Jasmine. The cemetery was in a remote area. The area was abandoned and the graves were broken. But they were not dug up or else Eva would have

seen skeletons. She was so mad at Desmond. How could he take those witches’ side. They even lived with them.

Well not really. Coz Eva was now a maid. Desmond wanted to kick her out but Marianne begged him not to. But in order to stay, she became a maid and lived

in a cottage in the backyard. When she went home she found something unexpected. There was an angry Jerry. Along with Jeffery, Desmond, Daphne

and Marianne. "Say how it happened, I'm sure she seduced u" Jerry said. "What are u talking about" Eva asked. Jerry turned. "I told u I would find proof. U talk"

Eva knew it was about Jerry's suspicion of her cheating, but how did that have to to do with Jeffery. Seemed he had some fake proof.

Eva was furious at Desmond. First for provoking her

mother whilst he knew her condition.
And secondly for cheating on

her mother the same year she got pregnant with her.

After all Daphne and Eva were the same age. That means he cheated

a long time ago. Who knew how long it’s been happening.

“ Your mother is no longer my responsibility, the minute she decided to cheat on me".

“ Cheated on u, even if she cheated on u it would be just pay back for what u did, u selfish man

cheated on her when she was probably pregnant,” Eva yelled angrily.

“ I cheated on her first, u’re not even my daughter, how is it that I cheated first".

Eva felt hurt by his words, but she was too angry at him to even show him that.

Because all he seemed to cared about were the lies he was being

told by the evil women in their living room.
“ I don’t want to talk to u, it’s a good thing that I’m not ur daughter.

At least I don’t have a selfish, good-for-nothing father like u".

Eva asked the guards to help her take Jasmine to the hospital.

When they got to the hospital her mother was quickly taken to the emergency operation room.

The doctors told Eva to wait in the waiting room. Desmond arrived just

as Jasmine was being sent inside the room. “ What are u doing here". “ I’m not here for u".

Eva was so mad at him. What did that witch, Marianne, feed him. But it’s not all her fault.
Desmond believed

Marianne, meaning he didn’t trust Jasmine at all. “ Neither r u here for mom, so just leave us alone.

U said I’m not ur daughter and mom cheated on u, we mean nothing to u now, so just leave".

“ Stop making a fuss, we’re in public. I don’t want any bad press".

Was he seriously. His wife was in hospital and all he cared about

was that. Before Eva could speak once again, a doctor came out of the operation room.

" Doc how's my mom".

“ It’s okay, and anyway I have my own fiancé so don’t worry, I won’t try to be you knew mommy".

“ Okay then,” Ross said and went back to play.

“ Sorry about that".

" It’s okay, his just a kid. No grudges held".

He nodded and they went back to silence. Eva looked up at the sky.

She wanted to ask something but she decided otherwise. She stood up to leave.

“ Well Aron, it was nice meeting you, take care of Ross, love and trust your wife".

“ I will". Eva smiled and walked back to her car. She got what she wanted.

She cleared her head and found some peace. She then went back home.

When she got home, she saw an unpleasant and perplexing scene.

She saw her mother who was so furious she even started crying. There were two more women in the house.

And not just any women. They were Daphne and her mother Marianne.

What were they doing there.

“ I did not do any of that Desmond, believe me,” Jasmine said. She went to touch Desmond’s hand but he avoided her touch.

“ Don’t touch me with your filthy hands".

Jasmine turned to Marianne. “ You who are you, what did you tell my husband".

“ Told him the truth, and don’t talk to me like that, I am the mother of the real Jansen heiress".

“ What are you spouting, the Jansen family only has one heiress and that’s Eva".

“ Don’t you dare say that bastard is the heiress when you know that she is not".

Eva felt pained. Her father just called her a bastard.

Eva was so confused her brain was about to explode.

“ Desmond how can you say that about your daughter."

“ Is she Desmond’s daughter".

"Then who is"

"This is Daphne, she's twenty and the real Jansen heiress".

Jasmine's heart couldn’t take it. She fainted on the spot. That’s when Eva moved. “ Mom, mom wake up".

"Dad, you know her state, why did you provoke her".
She was mad at Desmond. Why would her do that to his own wife.

The next day when, she woke up feeling terrible. It was as if something bad was gonna happen that day.

She took a bath and decided to go out to the park.

🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳

When she got to the park she went to sit on a bench.

The park was peaceful. There were children playing and laughing. Adults pushing their toddlers on the swing.

Some children were playing with a ball. There were bids chirping and kites flew above her head. It was a beautiful moment.

Luckily there was no one to disturb her peace. Just then a man went to sit next to her on the bench.

“ Hey,” the man said.

“ Oh, hi,” Eva said.

“ I can tell you’re stressed, I’m Aron by the way".

“ Oh nice to meet you Aron, my name is Eva".

“ Everyone knows who you are".

Eva didn’t l like the fame. She liked to live her life.

But at least she didn’t have to introduce herself all the time.

" Oh, well perks of being rich".

“ Yeah, so what’s you doing here".

“ Oh, I just want some fresh air".

“ Don’t girls like you go to the mall or the spar for fresh air".

“ Not all of us like to spend money, we do simple things like take walk or go to the park".

“ Wow, never thought a I’d hear a rich girl say that, you’re really interesting".

“ Yeah, I guess I am, so what brought you to the park?".

“ Oh, I brought my son, there,” Aron said pointing to a boy about six or seven years old.

As if he felt that they were talking about him the boy turned his head. He then went to them.

He stood in front of the two adults and looked at Eva.

“ My daddy has a wife, my mommy, so you can’t date him,” the boy blurted out.

“ Ross, where are your manners, that’s not what was happening here".

Eva then chuckled. The was scene cute. The boy was protecting his mother’s property.

“ But I saw her smile at you".

“ We were just chatting apologize to Eva".

" Sorry Miss Eva, I thought you said wanted to be my knew mommy."
