**Sweetness meets sisterhood!** 🇮🇳💗

This Friday, Jacobina Bakery continues its North Indian adventure with a table full of cardamom, mango, carrots, rose, pistachios and enough butter to make restraint feel terribly unreasonable.

A little honesty before we begin: **layer cakes are not the traditional centre of North Indian dessert culture.** The region is better known for sweets made with milk, reduced milk solids, rice, nuts, ghee, syrup, bread, lentils and vegetables such as carrots. Instead of pretending that our cakes are ancient Indian classics, we have taken the flavours and ingredients of beloved desserts and translated them into the language we know best—**bakery**. India’s many regional cuisines are extraordinarily diverse, and dairy and spices are especially important parts of their culinary character.

# # Our North Indian sweet menu

🥕 **Gajar Halwa-Inspired Cake — R40**
Traditional *gajar ka halwa* is a slow-cooked carrot dessert made with milk, ghee, sugar, cardamom and nuts, often enjoyed warm during the colder months. Our version is not traditional gajar halwa—it is a moist carrot cake inspired by those flavours, finished with cardamom frosting and pistachios.

In other words: carrot wore its best outfit and came to market.

🥭 **Mango & Cardamom Yoghurt Cake — R40**
A light, moist yoghurt cake scented with cardamom and topped with sweet mango. This is a modern Jacobina creation using flavours that feel beautifully at home together: creamy yoghurt, fragrant spice and sunny mango.

It tastes like summer took a small detour through our oven.

☕ **Masala Chai Shortbread — R35**
Buttery, crumbly shortbread infused with tea, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and a tiny whisper of black pepper.

A biscuit for anyone who believes tea should come with a snack—and the snack should preferably be another biscuit.

🌹 **Gulab Jamun Cheesecake Cup — R55**
Traditional gulab jamun are soft milk-based dumplings, fried until golden and soaked in fragrant syrup. Our dessert cup combines creamy cheesecake with pieces of syrupy gulab jamun, cardamom and rose.

Traditional gulab jamun met cheesecake. Neither one apologised.
