So beautiful 😍

Frozen in Time… but Still Perfect.

This tiny creature looks like it was caught inside a glowing drop of honey.
But it’s actually tree resin slowly hardening around a hoverfly.

In forests around the world, trees release sticky resin as a natural defense against injury, insects, or disease. When a small animal gets trapped in it, the resin can seal and preserve the body almost perfectly.

Over thousands… sometimes millions… of years, that resin hardens and becomes amber.

Some of the most detailed fossils scientists have ever discovered come from amber like this. Delicate wings, tiny hairs, even microscopic structures can remain preserved.

It is nature’s time capsule.

A moment from another life… sealed in golden light.

A hoverfly that once buzzed through warm forest air… now resting inside a drop of liquid sunlight.

And in rare cases, insects preserved this way have helped scientists understand ancient ecosystems that disappeared long before humans existed.

Nature does not only create life.
Sometimes it preserves its memory.

I’ll be closing my shop at Illovo Nursery, but this is not goodbye—just a new chapter. Every conversation, every crystal chosen, every moment of connection has meant the world to me. Thank you for supporting my little dream and allowing it to grow 🌱

I’m excited (and a little nervous!) about what’s next, but I truly believe this change opens the door to new possibilities ✨
