Good morning,,,,, due to how crazy things are going in my household at the moment, reminded me just how valuable, and necessary, that conversation still is. So, I thought it was time we talked about it again.
We all have our good days and then
we all have our not-so-good days as parents. I am sure youโve had those moments when you feel like running for the hills. My three kids have been at each otherโs throats for days now and some days I just really feel overwhelmed, stressed and just plain fed up! The truth is, every parent feels that way at times. Parenting is rewarding, but itโs also incredibly demanding.
Thatโs why it is essential that your โcupโ is full. When I talk about your cup, I mean your emotional, mental, and physical well-being. When your cup is full, you have the energy, patience, and perspective you need to manage lifeโs ups and downs, including your childโs challenging moments. But when your cup starts to empty, everything feels harder. You become more irritable, less patient, and perhaps less present. And, inevitably, that has a knock-on effect on your childโs behaviour. It becomes a cycle: you feel drained. BE KIND TO YOURSELF, LISTEN TO YOURSELF
