Classical African Art
Short synopsis by:Samkelo Mchunu
Represent gods conceived as kings and queens, classical African Art consist of ceiling beams covered with engraved crosshatching chevron diamonds and geometrical decorations.
Stone posts depicting life size figures, some of these classical art served as elements of culture.
We are unlikely ever to know anymore since these African Art have not been found in historical sites but have been collected from people who no longer have recollection of their use or tradition of their symbolic powers.
Most classical African Art is inspired by divination.
Art was an imaginative means to an end…
