New Age publishing for the every day African (Ubuntu bookstore opens for business) (15 May 2019-Sonneglans, Johannesburg) Junto Media has partnered with young, vibrant author-turned entrepreneur, Asanda Khathi to provide better publishing solutions for African authors. Ubuntu Bookstore, a new-age digital bookstore’s not only set to disrupt the publishing sector within the country, but aiming to provide a platform for writers to create their own market within the African continent. This platform was founded to improve the literacy of our fellow Africans by providing educational, societal and political books that many have limited access to. This digital platform consists of a website and app which will serve as a virtual library and allow readers to read books from as little as $6. They offer free services such as editing and proofreading for a shared profit in sales. Their doors are open to writers who want to turn their passion into an income and connect them with readers. Authors are encouraged to send an email of their manuscript and all relevant information pertaining to their book in order to get a publishing deal with the organisation. Former president; Mr. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world”, and we aim to bring that weapon to all.
