Oils arrived! In my diffuser today - Lemon for the gorgeous fragrance, Peppermint for concentration while I work and On Guard, just because, although maybe I should have chosen something for relaxation, my grandchildren have cabin fever with this wet weather😉

So grateful for running water - a week of battling with water has ended in success, thank you to those that managed to fix a leaking tank without taking it down off this tank stand, a feat of brilliant engineering in my eyes at least! Gale force winds, runaway fires and terrifying billowing smoke spewing flecks of black soot to settle on every surface, was how Woman’s day turned out for us in Ixopo. I had picked these beautiful proteas and I thought they would make a symbolic picture against the desolate background of burnt veld, like a phoenix rising out of the ashes.🔥 . . . .

Happy Friday Friends! What are your plans for this Women’s Day weekend?
I am going to make some lemonade with these lemons, my neighbour gave me off her tree. Im posting the recipe below and maybe you can make some over the weekend too, post a pic and tag me😬

Lemon Syrup.
Boil together 5 cups sugar and 5 cups of water and the grated rind of 2 lemons, stirring until the sugar has dissolved, Boil for about five minutes then take off the heat and add 15ml Tartaric Acid and 2.5ml Epsom Salts, Stir well and allow to cool and then add 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, Stir well and bottle.
To serve add 1-2 Tbs in a glass filled with iced water, makes a wonderfully refreshing drink. Have fun!!. . .

I made some sourdough, and had a bit left over from a loaf of bread so decided to make a sweet treat for tea, served on the prettiest of cake plates called “Lovers Lane”, which remind me that Spring is peeking around the corner despite the chilly weather 🥶.
