Because you can change the rig, rather than constantly changing the bait. 👀

Our approach right now:
CAST → LET IT FALL → TWITCH → PAUSE.

TAKE A KID FISHING 🎣

They don’t care whether the rod costs R500 or R5,000.

They care that Dad, Mom, Grandpa or Granny put the phone away and spent the day with them.
Keep their first fishing trip SIMPLE.

🎣 A light rod they can comfortably hold.

🎣 THE 11AM RULE

Summer fishing says GET THERE EARLY!

But winter bass fishing can be different. While your fishing buddy is freezing at sunrise… ☕ you could be having another coffee.

As the winter sun warms the water, target areas with sustained sunlight — especially rocks, structure, drop-offs and nearby deeper water. Even a few degrees can make a difference.

Then give the fish options:

🎯 FINESSE: Ned rig, dropshot or small soft plastic
🎯 SUSPEND: Jerkbait with a long pause
🎯 REACTION: Crankbait or jerkbait when conditions are right

🎣 One lure. Dozens of species. Endless possibilities.

If you walked into Cast & Catch and asked our team to choose just ONE lure for the estuary this winter, the answer would be easy... 👉 A 2.5–3” paddle tail soft plastic on a jighead.

🔥 Fish in KZN – July Highlights! 🎣🐟

What a month it’s been! July delivered some incredible catches across KZN, and we loved seeing everything from trophy bass to hard-fighting saltwater species hitting the decks.

A massive thank you to everyone who shared their photos with us. The quality of the catches this month was outstanding, and it’s great to see so many anglers getting out and making memories on the water.
