Winter is for cooking hearty meals at home. Rainy days in the Karoo with snow capped mountains make us crave satisfying home cooking.

Winter is the season for slow cooking, freshly baked bread, comforting puddings and gathering around the table with the people who matter most. In true South African style, we search for hearty recipes to slow cook wildsvleis and hearty soups to brave the icy evenings. Dis mos wat winter so lekker maak!

Om ‘n ma te wees is ‘n voorreg — een wat my elke dag leer van (baie) geduld, liefde en genade. Om ‘n besigheidseienaar te wees, sluk mens soms heel in. Kos maak, huiswerk en als tussen-in en bo-op.

These two girls remind me daily what truly matters. The gift of Motherhood is not something I take for granted. I am beyond grateful to God for this privilege to raise, grow and love them.

Today we celebrate all mothers. Grateful for the moms, moms-in-law, grannies, the friends-like-family. The aunties, the nannies and sisters. The ones who give so much of themselves, in ways both big and small.

May we all pause long enough to spoil her a little… with something beautiful, thoughtful, and chosen with care 🤍
